Spring!

Yes - for me spring is here!  I've got more basil and parsley (moss-curled) seeds growing and hoping for more success this time.  It's warming up this week outside - we may have plus 10 Celsius on Friday!! - so that's good for ambient temperature.  The drafts will be just the right temp for seeds ;-)  I'll post a photo a bit later...
I've got one seedling heat mat left - the rest got electrical shorts over the years - so I'm juggling the seed trays for a while until I get a new one or two.

Seeds

Yes, as soon as the new year is here, I start seeding the herbs.  I've put in some thyme and today some basil.  Tomorrow, I'll put in some sage and Wednesday parsley.  Everyday one or two and then I'll start all over again :)
I'm starting the seeds in a peat/vermiculite mix, sprayed with chamomile tea to prevent damping off.  They all receive bottom heat to start and light once the seedlings come up.
This year, I'm going to concentrate more on the culinary herbs, with a few others like borage and monkshood thrown in because I just like the look of them.

These plant should be ready in March for your windowsill gardens.  They're also great for catering events such as weddings.

Well, I'm going back to dreams of spring - it's only 10 weeks away, you know ;-)
